Dear HeartTuner / CardioGem and NeuroGem customer and coherence friend
Please enjoy going through this first major update and newsletter
after the successful release of the two new applications last fall.
The much needed introduction of heart coherence (now spectrum geometry
diagnosis) in the professional segment was greatly rewarded by some
new (institutional) users referenced below, and lots of appreciated
initial feedback and suggestions. This resulted besides a number of
refinements in the applications, in the Cardiogem Therapists Manual
which addresses as much as possible all the questions on practical
use in therapy and coaching.
The website and url are also new: www.trigunamedia.com
Upgrades from the "old" HeartTuner PRO-04 to the CardioGem-5QS
are available from 270,- Euro already. Current Heart Tuner owners
who want to acquire the NeuroGem can count on the same discount
as with the new combined package (prices see webshop).
With special thanks
to Dr. Shemi Sagiv (Network Spinal Analysis), André
Visch (Health Spa and Therapy Center Ryokan de Bronsbergen), Dolf
Terlingen (VitaalScan in collaboration with AdvanceHCC) and Angela
Skaliks (Chalice Well's Harmony) for their feedback and contributions.
CardioGem and NeuroGem spectral
geometry diagnosis were introduced in more professional and therapeutic
institutes, evaluations are underway which will be published in due
time.

CardioGem Therapists Manual free download
Besides the standard CardioGem user guide for hard- and software operation,
a new Therapists Manual is now available, focusing on the use of spectral
geometry diagnosis and training in therapeutic practice and coaching.
The basics of spectrum geometry are clarified, the various aspects
of use in practice are explained by means of characteristic authentic
sessions and there are some interesting backgrounds on wave matrix
physiology.
The Therapists Manual can be viewed online
or be downloaded as .pdf.
CardioGem to be used in Life Style & Corporate Coaching
Historically the use of the Heart Tuner (now CardioGem) and in its
trail the NeuroGem was almost exclusively in therapy and wellness
related fields as well as research. Typical use is as an objective
reference and validation for existing alternative and complementary
intervention. Through frequent inquiries from, and talks with coaching
professionals (sports, life style, corporate) we have gained much
insight in how to implement spectral geometry (heart, brain) in different
fields.
As a coach, your challenge is to convey your skills and / or advise
to a client, helping him or her to independently pursue certain health
or performance goals. Heart or brain spectral geometry diagnosis and
training can be a strategic way to introduce a deeper psychological
dimension in your program which may help building a broader and more
authentic basis for sustainable success.
The Dutch coaching group Advance HCC (www.advancehcc.nl)
specializing in corporate coaching employs a network of around 40
independent coaches in flexible teams. Advance HCC offers the option
of "Vitaal Scan" for employees' general wellness assessment
and advise.
|
Therapist and coach Dolf Terlingen (Netherlands) (www.osteopaat.biz;
www.vitaalscan.nl): "I
am an osteopath and in 2007 started with "VitaalScan"
as an independent business. With VitaalScan I carry out a few
tests to gain insight in the mental and physical functioning of
employees in a corporate environment or organization. The tests
include a so called Cardioscan focusing on stress vs. wellness
related physiology. Recently I also acquired the CardioGem
which allows me to get very specific understanding of the
basic psychology of social interaction and authenticity. In an
evaluation session afterwards, the results will be used to advise
on improvements on physical, mental and social functioning".

If you are a
coach in one of these fields and are keen to offer your clients a
deeper and broader than usual assessment and advise, please check
out the respective section in the new Therapists Manual with guidelines
for implementing spectral geometry in your coaching program.

CardioGem + NeuroGem in Health Spa / Therapy Center for pre- / post
evaluation
Health Spa and Therapy Center "Ryokan de Bronsbergen" (www.ryokan.nl)
near Zuthphen, Netherlands was one of the first clients after introducing
the CardioGem and NeuroGem last fall. Ryokan offers a broad spectrum
of health, wellness, therapy and beauty related treatments in the
professional segment in a very attractive setting.
Before deciding to implement spectral geometry diagnosis, in combination
with therapeutic courses, we agreed to set out for a whole day testing
with nine clients (patients) before and after intervention. The results
of that testing day can be summarized in that in almost all cases
the effect of intervention was (very) significantly indicated by the
CardioGem (HRV, Quick Scan) as well as NeuroGem (Quick Scan, spectrogram).
|
Director and therapist, André Visch (Netherlands):
"We of Health Spa "Ryokan de Bronsbergen" acquired the
CardioGem and NeuroGem to gain insight in the progress
of our health course guests. Questionnaires can often be delusive
and that's why we are looking for a method which is more conclusive.
Our experiences with the new applications are positive. In order
to estimate to what extend this method can be used to certify
the quality of our services to paying customers will need a little
more time. However, all signs point in that direction. Our next
study will focus on the diagnostic use of the applications to
provide a solid basis for prognosis. We expect that especially
the NeuroGem will be an excellent tool for this".
André Visch is besides professional physiotherapist a former
"black belt" world toplevel 'kyokushin' karate expert.

CardioGem in Network Spinal Analysis
Chiropractic is a widely introduced and recognized intervention based
on entraining the nervous system through subtle touch of the joints,
especially those of the spine. Despite its worldwide success, a firm
causal relation between treatment and result has remained a subject
of controversy in main stream medical circles ever since its inception
a century ago. Network spinal analysis (www.donaldepstein.com)
was founded by Dr. Donald Epstein with the purpose of broadening the
scientific basis ("evidence based") and expand its application.
NSA is dedicated to (quote): greater self-awareness and conscious
awakening of the relationships between the body, mind, emotion, and
expression of the human spirit. NSA has currently over 700 certified
members (chiropractic Dr.'s) worldwide.
Current research carried out by NSA involves electromyographic analysis*,
which demonstrated increased coherency in, and predictability of the
signals after intervention, attributed to the autonomous nervous system.
Spectral geometry analysis as carried out with the CardioGem was found
to be a wonderfully compatible technology to assess the subtle effects
of chiropractic, i.e. in a pre- / post intervention style.
|
NSA certified practitioner Dr. Shemi Sagiv (Israel): As
a chiropractic physician specializing in network spinal analysis
(NSA) seeking to promote wellness I find that the CardioGem
is the gold standard which assist me and practice members to evaluate
their progress. Some of the important outcomes of NSA is to develop
somatic awareness and to promote psycho-somatic coherence of the
heart-brain function and the CardioGem is valuable in monitoring
these outcomes. As a sport chiropractic I find that with the CardioGem
I can sharpen and refine the athlete's ability to be alert (HRV)
while maintaining high internal focus (ICC) which is crucial for
peak performance.
Being a sports chiropractor, Shemi Sagiv himself participated
in the 1984 Los Angeles Games as an Olympian Marathon runner.

NeuroGem in
private psychiatric & healing practice
|
Angela Skaliks, Chalice Well's Harmony, Aachen, Germany: "The
NeuroGem is in my opinion the ideal program to recognize learning
disorders and to work on improvement. Furthermore, the calculations
of Octave and Golden Mean coherence allow for a clear representation
of personality disorders. It's exciting to see that many people,
whose focus is exclusively circling around them selves, show a
lacking outward sensibility in the test results. This is how I
imagine the world of the psychotic individual, obnoxiously positioning
him or herself in the centre of the world only to concoct excuses
to escape in withdrawal. I am as before very enthused and see
especially in the NeuroGem a tool to constructively act upon psychically,
mentally and emotionally oriented problems. There are no "escapes"
for the test person because the evaluation speaks for itself,
holding up a mirror in the face. Thanks for contributing to a
little elucidation in brain research with your work!"

NeuroGem clinical testing in progress
Geometric
spectrum analysis and geometric modulation (biofeedback) offer a variety
of fascinating options for scientific research and clinical testing.
Testing is currently carried out in collaboration with an internationally
renowned medical faculty in the Netherlands. The goal is to deepen
insights in its working, and possibly develop practical applications
in a clinical environment. News and results will be published in due
time.

Professional upgrade from HeartTuner PRO-04 to CardioGem-5QS
Upgrading from the "vintage" Heart Tuner PRO-04 to the CardioGem-5QS
provides the additional benefit of quick and concise diagnosis (less
need for sometimes difficult interpretations of the graphics screens)
summarized in the "Quick Scan" with Dynamic Index. This
creates a one-page, instant printable overview of essential heart
coherence data incl. traditional HRV. Upgrading is possible for all
Heart Tuner owners with the newer ("4 battery type") hardware.
If you have older hardware please contact us for a special price.
Note: the NeuroGem is a new application and not available as upgrade,
however the same discount options apply as for a combined (CardioGem
+ NeuroGem) package.

New: CardioGem export options
(e.g. for database, spreadsheet)
If you are using the CardioGem especially for longer follow-ups (longitudinal
test), database resp. spread sheet compatibility can be a great benefit.
The CardioGem was therefore updated with a non-formatted export option
for (2 channel) key heart data, including: session header, channel
mode, time & date, title, various HRV data, average coherence,
Dynamic Index (for both channels). The "Export Scan" function
can simply be selected from the File Menu. This option allows professional
users to compile their own way to compose, process and represent trends
and statistics e.g. during a treatment course.

Tachycardia medication shows in CG-5 trend
(excerpt from Therapists Manual)
This is a recording of a test person
(i.e. patient, F, 69) with an uncommon HRV/ECG coherence trend. It
is striking that although the HRV is remarkably low (lower than desirable
at this age) the ECG coherence is nevertheless not consistently unnaturally
high (like with above test person of 90+ years also having very low
HRV):

Evaluation: when the session result was discussed, this person indicated
to have been using medication against tachycardia already for a long
time. The measurable consequence is that not only the heart rhythm
is kept calmer, but that the natural variation, that is, the HRV,
is at the same time suppressed as well! This state is of course diametrically
opposite to the philosophy of spectral geometry training. The reply,
to how the test person feels psychologically as a result of this medication,
indicated in an inverse sense, and in a slightly bitter manner what
spectral geometry stands for: "I have the feeling that I have lost
myself a bit". Notwithstanding how unpleasant and potentially threatening
tachycardia may be, is it not at least as discouraging if the heart
does not jump in moment of joy, gets empowered with positive challenge
or responds to an empathic impulse? Particularly considering that
the music of the heart (electrically and acoustically) modulates and
harmonizes all cells of the body, should there not be an alternative
for chemically oppressing the ANS influence? Shouldn't it be examined
why the autonomous impulse it not converted into a harmonious HRV
spectrum, instead of into an uncontrolled pace? (See especially the
role of octave geometry as described in appendix C on coherent wave
physiology).
Since in this exceptional case the Dynamic Index was nevertheless
favorable, it can be stated that the CardioGem is simply not tailored
to deal with this, at least in the usual sense. This however leaves
a clue for the CardioGem therapist, not to rely solely on the final
result (Dynamic Index), but at least keep an eye on the overall process.
This way, in this case the unusual HRV/ECG coherence trend was spotted.
Initial NeuroGem biofeedback results captivating
Unlike with the HeartTuner / CardioGem, biofeedback with the NeuroGem
is a very new and exciting area of research. The term "neurofeedback"
is not used, because spectral geometry is based on a universal principle
of coherence (i.e. healthy condition) and not on norm groups (i.e.
specific disorders) or any personalized settings. Instead the term
"geometric modulation" is used.
Below fragments of spectrograms are of the same person under roughly
the same conditions, whereas the 2nd. spectrogram was taken during
geometric modulation (i.e. biofeedback). The resulting levels, continuity
and duration of coherence (right) were never seen in any person without
biofeedback:

This is an area
in development. As the effects can be strong (also subjectively) we
advise to apply NeuroGem biofeedback judiciously and in small portions
only, i.e. max. 1 x 10 min. per day to start with.
Spectral Geometry & contemporary life style
and management philosophies
What
do all contemporary lify style, develpmental and management philosophies
have in common? Let's briefly summarize a few leading approaches,
e.g.:
Clearly,
the shared message of all these philosophies is, that the traditional
idea of physical progress and wellness alone is not fulfilling. There's
more to life than the body, and body related needs. Above teachers stand
out in that they not only acknowledge the deeper motivations and sources
of empowerment of the mind, but also attempt to bring it into a meaningful,
comprehensive system, balancing all aspects of life. Whereas some approaches
are still rather psychologically modelled, Ken Wilber for example is
a philosopher who makes it as scientific as it gets.
Now, rather than willing to spell out any popular comparisons, let's
just look at the integral system of spectral geometry diagnosis and
training. Below diagram and comments come from the Therapists Manual,
capturing the essence of geometric coherence in bio-psychology and electro-physiology.
No further comments are given here. It is up to the reader, and especially
to the passionate therapist and coach, to look for meaningful parallels
and use them in practice, while keeping in mind that the CardioGem and
NeuroGem make it truly measurable.

This is
the continuous model of coherence physics, which is further explained
in the Therapists Manual.
Spectral
Geometry revealing the true Heart-Brain connection
The
mathematical resp. physiological connections between the different
poles of the continuous model of coherence physics provide a very
straightforward diagram of heart-brain interaction:

The
electro-physiology of heart and brain are considered identical on
the basic level of coherence physics. However, the way of measuring
it is very different in each case. This is most simply explained
as: the heart is a pulsed network, whereas the brain is a network
of pulses. As a result of these different, almost opposite inner
architectures, coherence in the brain is defined in terms of so
called "heterodyne synthesis", whereas coherence in the
heart is (normal) "additive synthesis". This explains
the very different algorithms used for measuring heart or brain
spectral geometry.
Following the "process flow" in the diagram, the striking
psychological interaction between heart and brain can be seen:
|
Heart
|
Brain |
| "Being
/ feeling one with your self" (outer focus or passion,
inner focus or self-awareness) |
Is
empowered by
"Brain - synergy" |
Controls
(as attractor)
"Heart - focused passion" |
| "Being
/ feeling one with others"; (inner feeling or empathy,
outer feeling or synergy) |
Is
empowered by
"Brain - self-awareness" |
Controls
(as attractor)
"Heart - empathy" |
In
simple psychological terms it means, that:
- feeling
for others is empowered by inner focus (or: from self-awareness to
empathy), but:
- feeling
for others is only truly realized by understanding others (or:
from empathy to synergy)
- focused
passion is empowered by understanding others (or: from synergy to
passion), but:
- focused
passion is only truly realized by inner focus (or: from passion
to self-awareness)
This way it is shown
that "heart- and brain intelligence" are locked in a keen,
"intelligent", closed-loop equilibrium, where "being
one with yourself" and "being one with others" are equally
important, but have a different meaning for the heart or the brain.
This insight is the unique and outstanding "spin-off"
from spectral geometry physiology, and - as a concept - free for all!
A additional special lesson to be learned is, that discriminating between
"feeling" and "thinking" is not equivalent to discriminating
between "heart" and "brain", respectively. The
brain also "feels" (that is: synergy) whereas the heart also
"thinks" (that is: focused passion, which is not the same
as longing..!).
"Evidence Based" - redefined: from subjectivity
to statistics to physics
In main stream
medical science, "evidence" often means "statistics".
The moment statistics are used as an argument (anywhere), you can
be sure that the underlying parameters are not totally understood.
With the motto "medica curat, natura sanat" in mind, we
could say that the underlying parameters are in fact never totally
understood, even when curing (!) e.g. a broken leg.
At the same time, many complementary or alternative methods or treatments
are considered "non-scientific" because the underlying parameters
are totally not understood.., notwithstanding subjective results
and positive statistics in well tested cases. Consequently, if some
underlying parameters of a complementary or alternative method are
understood, this method could potentially be considered "scientific",
that is of course, if the statistics are favorable as well.
A solution for both would be, if the underlying parameters are actually
understood. This is what spectral geometry in electro-physiology is
about. Although the flip side is that spectral geometry (so far) is
non-specific with respect to disorders, other than a known impact
of those disorders on the standard measured parameters, spectral geometry
diagnosis can form an ideal validation tool both for clinical and
complementary or alternative use. More specifically, it could help
bring complementary or alternative methods under the umbrella of accepted
main stream clinical practice.
In other words, spectral geometry diagnosis (and treatment) has the
potential to introduce a new paradigm of "evidence based".
"Evidence" exists in the form of a comprehensive biophysics
model (wave matrix physics or coherent wave physiology) which is mathematically
testable and verifiable, of course measurable, and entrainable (see
also paragraph on heart-brain connection).
Challenges for further research and expansion of the concept lie in
mostly in further evolving and refining of the practical applications,
still along with longitudinal testing and more statistic verification.
CardioGem vs. monotonic breathing training
(excerpt from Therapists Manual)

The RSA peak is used in
certain products as a biofeedback indicator for monotonic breathing
training. The CardioGem proves that in that case the ECG spectral
coherence (also) gets much lower. Possibly this produces a certain
ad hoc advantage along the line of, “the director can relax
because the whole orchestra plays only one note”. Since such
a method is clearly not compatible with the basic (psychological)
premises of spectral geometry training, such a function in the
CardioGem, for example as "add-on", is not apposite.
New:
"Geometric origin of selective color empathy" rewrite,
with new animations
Ask
a child the colors of a rainbow or emerging from a prism, and it
will name the primary colors. This is what we call "selective
color empathy": the spectrum of light is not perceived smoothly,
but certain colors seem to stand out for no obvious reason. These
are the colors you first learned as a kid. The fact that other colors
are often named after them, but never the way around, by itself
proves they are special.
Why
are these colors found to be unique? Is there a physical or physiological
basis for such divisions of the visible spectrum, or is it just
our "subjective" perception? In that case, why are the
primary colors always the same, worldwide and throughout history?
Is there a universal, but hidden pattern which guides our conscious
experience?
The "geometric origin of selective color empathy" is a
proof of such a concept, a new approach which could be called the
physics of conscious experience. It formulates a distinct division
of the visible spectrum accurately accounting for the wavelengths
of the primary colors, and more. As it provides clues for an extended
type of underlying wave physics, it can be a great incentive for
further research. Read

Obsolete physiology and physics claims
- The concept of "Golden Mean in the cepstrum (i.e. of the
Heart Tuner)" as promoted for many years by Dan Winter turned
out to be faulty and utterly meaningless, much to the frustration
of many early HeartTuner users. This is most simply explained mathematically,
as Golden Mean is a ratio, whereas the Cepstrum basis is a time
index (time interval, not progression). This is replaced now by
harmonic inclusiveness in the HRV spectrum which is fractal and
implies Golden Mean geometry if the tacho signal is taken as a heterodyne
composite. Only if a healthy HRV spectrum is sufficiently harmonic,
the ECG spectrum can also be coherent. Hence, ECG coherence (or
"ICC" - Internal Cardiac Coherence") implies at the
same time harmonic inclusiveness in the HRV spectrum. This is explained
in more detail by means of examples in the Therapists Manual. All
by all this is another sad example of "new-age" interpretation
of the Golden Mean ratio, unnecessarily alienating it from main
stream science, whereas in truth Golden Mean has proven to have
profound mathematical, physical and physiological implications.
- The concept of "Implosion" by means of Golden Mean (Phi)
based charge compression, also promoted by Dan Winter for many years
could ideally serve as a physics model for heartcoherence, and generally
conscious perception, explaining e.g. some of the rather euphoric
experiences associated with (high) internal coherence. However,
although the concept may in essence be sound (which I believe),
in the form it was popularized it is controversial because:
-
Dan Winter
has never produced any mathematical and / or physics basis, background
or evidence, other than popularly referring to fractal patterns
in nature (like shells or broccolis);
- The so-called
"evidence" he produced (Phi in the cepstrum) was wrong,
as explained above;
- A paper by a
certain Mr. Anderson was long time used by Dan Winter to demonstrate
at least part of the concept, but the math in that paper (supposedly
a self-sorting algorithm) was futile;
-
Since the
time, around a decade ago, when Dan Winter came forward with it,
he never further developed (his understanding of) the concept
the least bit - neither intuitionally, nor conceptually and not
at all mathematically; a recent "discovery" of his on
Phi in the hydrogen atom structure did not imply recursion, and
is hence trivial for "charge compression", whereas his
claim that this explains the cause of gravity is even more arbitrary;
-
I worked
out several mathematical / physics approaches for his sort of
linguistic idea of charge compression. The solutions entailed,
in short, various wave matrix models for Phi based charge distribution
with respect to different inertial frames. Dan was utterly unable
to relate to any of it or at least hint at a preferred approach
so that we could have taken it from there. Only after a lot of
insistence Dan murmured "I think it is a combination of all".
Clearly this is only an escape, rather than any proof of insight
in his own pet theory. Even a well-founded disapproval of all
proposed solutions would have meant more.
- Verifiable biophysics
/ mathematical evidence I produced myself, which I gladly would have
shared to support Dan's claims (geometry
of color, "WhyPhi"
paper, "Fractal
Synth" numerical analysis) was generally ignored and / or
mis-interpreted by Dan.
Scientific concepts
like these holding a huge potential for future applications in various
fields need to be treated professionally. Adding-up and multiplying
it all, a child can see that Dan Winter himself can hardly be the true
originator of the advanced concept of Phi based charge compression and
its related physics. He simply doesn't seem to understand anything of
it himself. Many including myself would full heartedly grant him the
credit of at least some deep "intuitional" knowledge which
might to some extend validate his fancy and truly engaging stage performances.
But with the absolute zero progress, even if only in that area and his
obvious aversion to help work out a truly shareable mathematical / physics
basis (which could take the magic spell away..?) we doubt whether even
that is really the case. The only remaining enigma is: who is or
was the true genius behind it?

Additional note on "charge compression" in physics and
biophysics
"Golden Mean" does not describe such a thing as "charge
compression", it only optimizes the conventional wave discipline
by which the least amount of electro-magnetic potential is transformed
into electro-magnetic energy. We could argue that a minute fraction
of electro-magnetic potential may thus become available for the formation
of generic gravitation or "life force", after esthetically
joining the vast web of relativistic geodesics. But the intrinsic physics
of that has yet to be recognized, and also the natural conversion of
gravitation into electro-magnetic energy has to be realized. The "Big
Bang" after all only makes sense as an inference refracted in its
quintessence, rather than as an observable reflected in its circumference.
